10x Page margins, orientation, size and layout

 

Exercises

  1. Open up a new document in Word.
  2. Type in the following:
  3. Loopy Limerick

    'Twickenham Twit' by Richard Caley

    A rugby star playing at Twickenham
    Wore shorts far too tight to run quick in 'em
    They pinched round the waste
    Were not in good taste
    And quite frankley he looked a right twit in 'em


  4. Use the zoom tool on the standard toolbar to view the whole page.
  5. Use Page Setup in the File menu to set the left and top margins on the page to 5cm.
    Check the preview window to see that the text has moved.
    It should have moved across the page a little and down a little.
    Click OK.
  6. Again using Page Setup, set the layout of the page to landscape.
    Check the preview to see that the layout has changed.
    Click OK.
  7. Open the Page Setup box again and click on the Page tab.
  8. Set the paper size to No.10 Envelope.
    Check the preview to see that the page size has changed.
    Click OK.
  9. If you want to, save the document as 'Page Setup' in your folder.
  10. Close Word
