The aim of the tutorial is to:

explain how to use the Page Setup box to set the orientation of a worksheet prior to printing from Excel.

Worksheet orientation

The Page Setup box contains a Page tab that allows you to set the orientation of a worksheet:

You can set the orientation of a worksheet to portrait or landscape. A suitable orientation of the worksheet will depend on how the information appears on the worksheet and how it should be printed. The default orientation is portrait. Switch to landscape when you need to print many more columns of data than will fit on a portrait page.

To change the orientation of a worksheet to Landscape:

  1. Open up the Page Setup box.
  2. Ensure that the Page tab is uppermost.
  3. Click on the circle next to Landscape so that a black dot appears in it.
  4. Click OK.
The box will disappear from the screen and the new orientation will be set.

To change the orientation of a worksheet to Portrait:

  1. Open up the Page Setup box.
  2. Ensure that the Page tab is uppermost.
  3. Click on the circle next to Portrait so that a black dot appears in it.
  4. Click OK.
The box will disappear from the screen and the new orientation will be set.
